not the friendliest, but efficient. had wrong room assigned, had to call travel agent to rectify. parking price was rediculously price @ 24.00 + tax per day. nice location for harbor; far away for other areas. could use auto but then you are confronted with new parking charges. Next time we will try for free parking and more resonable rates. Nice restaurant and bar, prices are upscale. Resatauant help was quite good.

  • Super convenient to the port!

Location is great...right on Mission Bay and by many things to do. Not the newest hotel..bed was comfortable...but rooms kind of tired. Worst thing was on three of our six days staying there, we had a horrible sewer gas smell in our bathroom. Hotel personnel blamed the city and said there was nothing they could do about it. It depended on what direction wind was in. It was pretty bad one day we just couldn't stay in the room any more. Offered to move us to a different room, but couldn't guarantee there would be no smell. We did get a free breakfast for the problem. Shuttle provided was great and staff friendly.

  • Good

From the very first meeting with the staff, we were pleased with our choice of this hotel. We were picked up at the airport on their free shuttle, and even though we arrived at teh front desk at 9:30AM, the clerk offered us a room (and didn't make us wait till something even remotely closer to the check-in time). Everyone we dealt with from that first morning on was friendly and helpful. And our room had a nice view of the city with a comfortable little balcony. Note that the hotel is made up of three buildings and though it seemed all (most?) rooms had balconies, some would have "views" of the adjacent building or rooftop of another building. Only some had harbor views and some overlooked the downtown area. We didn't request and pay for the upgraded harbor view. Our room itself was clean, neat, and very comfortable. We could request feather pillows, which we did. The restaurant/bar was overpriced and we soon discovered that we were within an easy walk to Little Italy and the Downtown area with many wonderful restaurants with better food and better prices. I did enjoy the little coffee stand in the lobby. The pool was clean and the lounge chairs were kept tidy and sporting a fresh towel. The shadows from the surrounding buildings kept it too chilly for my taste. We managed quite easily to do without renting a car for our 5-day stay. The hotel shuttle took us to and from the airport, to and from Balboa Park, and the trolley station was within an easy walk from the hotel, too. Do the whale watching tour and the Maritime Museum--both a block or so from the hotel!
